Salvation Speaks

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

I am a visual learner. Can you tell?

For as long as I can remember, I have been doodling since I discovered I could hold a pencil and found there was a whole new world around me- the world of color! The most wonderful delight and surprise(as an adult) has been combining two things I love the most-Art and God’s Word. Above, is a picture I began drawing about how salvation speaks to the believers heart. All the Bible points to the salvation Jesus came to bring. It’s a beautiful story of love and hope.

The beauty of the Word of God compels me everyday to keep living joyfully. God’s truth of salvation allows me to see a greater picture of reality than just the here and now. It keeps hope alive in my heart by giving me truth to cling to. It helps me fix my eyes on Jesus, my Savior, the author of my faith.

Drawing my faith has challenged me and helped me go deeper in my relationship with the LORD. Doodling quiets my soul and helps my brain recall truths I have learned and hidden in my heart. Sometimes, I have long forgotten a passage, but when I sit down to draw, it pops up into my head. I love how God’s Word comes back to us when we least expect it! Be encouraged and KNOW that your time in God’s Word, is speaking to you even when you don’t realize it is!!

PRAYER: Lord, Thank you for salvation through Jesus! Thank you for giving us Your Holy Word. Help us to understand Your truth, and encouraged us as we open it every time. In Jesus name, Amen.

Self-Control from the Book of Proverbs

Bible Journaling a favorite in Proverbs

Can we just say that the book of Proverbs is right on the money!!!!

ALL THE TIME!

Whenever we read it, its like sitting down and letting God reset our heart away from worldly wisdom.

The Bible says, A PERSON without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. What a visual!!
Or in todays times, it would be like having a house that was broken into and the doors were left open all the time. In other words, a person without self-control becomes like this…. open to all kinds of beliefs and people and ideas and false truths. They become unstable. So on one hand, self-control is a keeping away from something but on the other hand, self-control is a blessing because it guards our life.

Without self-control, we become unstable in our beliefs and can hurt others, can let in feelings, emotions, worldly views, opinions, false teachings, lead us away from the LORD. This isn’t what God has for us as his children. Because self-control is a fruit of HIS Spirit (Jesus), we simply can come back to him through prayer and confession and ask the LORD to help us grow more self-control in our attitude, actions, and beliefs.

Maybe today you needed this reminder. I know I did!

A Proverbs a day is a blessing always!
I hope it blesses you wherever you are today!!!
