The late G.K. Chesterton challenged our family tonight in our Advent reading.
I love that that is even possible! Thanks to books, my family and I can benefit from great followers of Jesus from years ago.
I had to draw it out on paper to get myself to think on the truth of where I put hope in during my week, my month, my year.
I would say, a lot of things I hope in … well, are not things that draw me closer to God. They aren’t bad things, but they are simply worldly things. Things that are temporary and all of us can get swept away placing our hope in them.
Such a a needed reminder this Advent season.
What an honest prayer to pray on a daily basis to keep our hearts in check in our relationship with God.
Lord let us be believers who hope in the things that bring us closer to you!! Hope in your word. Hope in your promises!! Hope in salvation. Hope in lives being changed by your grace
